THE WOMAN BEHIND THE METHOD
FOUNDER. EVELYN MARIA DIAI created Barre & Be because I realized so many of us have learned how to perform without ever truly feeling connected to ourselves.
For years, I lived in environments where performance mattered. As a former athlete, I learned early that approval, opportunities, and recognition often came through discipline, results, image, and how well you could hold it all together. Later, stepping into acting and professional spaces, I saw similar patterns show up again constantly being observed, evaluated, and measured.
And while those experiences taught me resilience, they also revealed something deeper: I was so used to the performance, I was disconnected from who Evelyn truly was.
I knew how to push through. I knew how to look composed. I knew how to achieve.
But I lost connection with my body, my peace, my voice, my spirit and the parts of me underneath survival mode.
Barre & Be was born from my own journey of reconnecting.
What started as movement evolved into something much deeper:
a practice of reconnecting with myself and transforming my mind, body and life by taking the tools I learned on the mat and applying them off the mat..
Movement became less about punishment or perfection and more about presence, grounding, regulation, and coming home to myself.
At Barre & Be, we believe the way we move through our body often reflects the way we move through life.
Through intentional movement, nervous system support, breath, and mind-body connection, we help women reconnect to themselves so they can stop performing and start being.
This is not about becoming someone else.
It’s about returning to yourself.
Because true strength is not found in hardening yourself to survive the world. It’s found in learning how to stay rooted within.
Ready to move
through it?
movement is a vehicle to reconnect to ourselves. real strength is the ability to re connect and stay connected both on and off the mat.
